Does Every Favour Result Good?

     

     Suddenly, James shouted:” They are coming!” I was scared because we were just ten soldiers with outdated equipment but they were at least a hundred people with the latest equipment. We needed to do something. We had no chance to survive if they caught us.  So, we started to run. We took three or four steps, a click sound came from the right-hand side. We were lucky because it was an anti-tank mine, so Henry was too thin to trigger the mine. We continued walking because we had no time. We walked and walked. After the six-hour walk, it became night. The darkness of the night covered everywhere. The moonlight was the only thing which was brightening the night. We ate our conserve rice and sauced chicken. It was a little cold but it was not a problem because they would have found us easily if we set the fire. After dinner, we needed to look out the surrounding area in case the enemies had come but all of us were extremely tired. No one wanted to be look-out man but nineteen-year-old Jerry, who was the youngest of us, wanted. I said to him:” You are a young man. Stay here and rest. I will be the look-out man. Then I set off to the looking-out place. I heard a big boom sound after a few seconds later. I thought it was the sound of anti-tank mine we had seen while we were running but the truth would show up five seconds later all of its sadness. It was the sound of a missile. I saw my friends flying body parts when I looked at our camp. I was devastated. I started to shout:” No, no, no. This cannot be real.” I shouted:” Jerry! Are you alive?!” At that moment a man was shouting:” My commander, my commander… I started to run to the way the sounds came from. Then I woke up. I was all in a sweat. I realized that was a nightmare, and I took a deep breath. I could not forget that bad memory even though it happened 40 years ago.
