Reading Is Not A Sin

Hello my readers, you want this torture (!) :)

(Little photograph from my little library)

When you see this photograph, you can think:" Waow! You are so indecisive person."  but am I?

Reading Is Not A Sin
You know what people say:” Do not read those books. Are you communist?” (I gave the communist example because it comes to my mind first) I think that if you want to refuse something, firstly you should read it. What it is? What does it tell us? After that, you can make a comment about it. However, as people, we do not think in the same way, and this is clearly normal. As a person who thinks:” You cannot understand something whether it is good unless you read it.” If you think as I thought, and do as I said. You can be a hater in the worst scenario. However, If you against what I said (It is clearly normal by the way.), you are a prejudiced person about that subject. So, please do not be a person like that. I am hearing what question you have. “How we will understand the person whether s/he is prejudiced?” Actually, it is one of the easiest things in the world. Ask s/he one of these questions. “Did you read the book?” or “If you read which part you do not agree?” or.. simple “Why?” question. If s/he does not give a satisfying answer, s/he is probably prejudiced for me.

Maybe I am a prejudiced person who says they are prejudiced people. :)

What are your thoughts about this subject? Do you agree with me? or not?

    1. This is a book example.. Some of us also do that for hearts. We say before reading and we judge before understanding. "People talking without speaking". To choose easy way instead trying.. Pity.

  2. "if you want to refuse something, firstly you should read it. " this sentence explains everything. People often read what they think is right, but to be able to misrepresent an idea, we need to know that idea.

  3. We should read a lot regardless of the content because we have to have knowledge about everything, so I agree you. Luckily I'm not biased on anything.

  5. Should we read everything really? I think there is a thin line between reading and learning. If I want to learn something sure I read many kind of books or essays about it, but if I want just to read it is a bit unnecessary to confuse my mind. I mean before you take some information, in my opinion, you have to already have a basis. Then we built our mind more healthy. Eventually, time is also necessary, I cannot lose it so easy.

  6. Reading is necessary but I think this is connected with our readings. Everythi g of reading is really important. Can every of them learn anything to us? Obviously, what we read is more important than we read. -everybody can read every book. Regardeless our opinion,we should read every opinion for looking different aspect.-

  9. Firstly, you are the most unprejudiced person I have ever met. Afrer that, I think we should learn every single perspective because our world-view take shape after we learn all standpoint. If our world-view take shape without not to learn all standpoint, it becomes indurable and it changes every strike.
